Day 42

Long day today as traveled back to UK - 11 hours traveling in total!

Didn't have time to use the Lasercomb so will use it 2 days on the trot tomorrow and Wednesday.

Very tired hence the short journal entry.

Day 43

November 2, 2004

Not much to report today - back at work and the hair is still coming through. I bought some make-up sponges from Boots to dab on the "darkener" I make up and also some boot polish for the same reason. Thought I'd give it a go!

Had quite a pussy spot on my scalp earlier today which is probably a combination of product and the sun from the holiday. Seems to have cleared up OK.

Tried a new way of "darkening" - apply wet/liquid eyeliner to a make up sponge (triangle) - use 1 x black, 1 x dark brown and 1 x brown and dab it on gently to the scalp. Use the clean side of the sponge to blend it in and then style hair as usual - use a bit of wax or some gel just to give the appearance of definition. The results are quite impressive:

Difficult day today as it was my Grandad's funeral.

Hair looked good as I darkened my scalp first thing.

Using the Lasercomb again tonight to catch up and then going back to every other day.

Just a normal day today. Hair is still coming through but still a way to go...Still hopeful of hair for Christmas though!

A good friend took a picture of the back of my head...what scar!

Added a couple of links to this site from 2 guys who have had a hair transplant and documented it well. Although they didn't use the Choi method, the results really are spectacular.

Nothing much more to report, still happy and the hair's still coming through slowly but surely.

Used Lasercomb before bed.

Busy Saturday and not really had much time to think about the hair. It's still there and coming through slowly.

I would really like to get it cut about now but am forcing myself to grow it a little.

Relaxing Sunday so nothing much going on.

Getting a few spots on my head so I'm laying off any "darkening" for a few days to make sure I'm not blocking my pores. Using Fucicort to clear any spots up.

Nothing much to report today. Used Lasercomb before bed but apart from that, just a normal Monday.

Spots are still on my scalp - hope they clear up soon.

Noticed loads of very fine blonde hairs on my scalp today. It's almost like a fine fur!

They'll eventually fall out and be replaced with thicker darker hairs.

I really believe that these hairs are surrounding the transplanted hairs so could be down to the Finasteride and Lasercomb - only time will tell!

Day 51

Well it's 7.30 and I'm still at work. Taken a few pictures in a different light whilst I'm here.

Went to see a couple of friends earlier and they both couldn't believe how my hair had grown and how different I was starting to look. I hadn't seen them for about a month so it was incredibly re-assuring to hear.

The fur is most definitely there. Can't wait for it to grow and darken. today is a good day!

Ordered a tub of DermMatch today from D S Products which should arrive tomorrow.

I ordered the dark brown and will use it very sparingly. Shame the Nanogen didn't work as I was too bald but I'm hopeful this will colour the blond hairs so I can really see how much hair has grown - I'm quite excited about it all to be honest.

Still have some uncomfortable spots on my head so using the Fucicort before bed. Going to pick myself up some medicated shampoo (Vosene) tomorrow to make sure my scalp is healthy.

I cannot recommend DermMatch enough as a solution to masking your scalp and thickening the hair. I put some on in the evening and went shopping!

This has really changed the way I feel - I am much more patient now and know it will be much easier to wait for the hair to come through.

The photo's show me after I applied the DermMatch.
The only drawback is if you are as bald as me, it is noticeable close up under strong light so I would advise you to avoid those situations otherwise, if you're off out, it's perfect.

Had my hair cut today - just a trim to tidy up the edges. Applied a tiny amount of DermMatch before taking these pictures.

Nothing much else to report apart from I'm well and truly on the right road!

Relaxing day (of sorts) today - hair is looking fine although I chatted to a good friend about using "just for men" to get rid of the gray and also to colour the 1000's of blonde hairs coming through on my scalp. Got the OK so will buy some tomorrow.

On a personal note, picked up my second dog today - Welcome Bertie the Beagle to our family :)

Well, Just For Men worked a treat and I have no grey hair anymore. Shame it didn't stick to the 1000's blond hairs on my scalp but I guess I was hoping for a miracle!

I've come to the conclusion I just need to be patient - it hasn't even been 2 months yet.

Forgot to use the Lasercomb (first time) so I'll do it tomorrow and Wednesday to catch up.

Used Lasercomb when I got back from work to catch up. Apart from that, nothing much else to report - got a few spots on my scalp but that seems to be quite normal.

No-one noticed I had no grey hair anymore which goes to prove, people really don't take any notice of other people's hair!

Just another normal day at the office. Using the Lasercomb tonight to catch up.

I must admit, I'm starting to get impatient now - I know it's only been a couple of months but I wish my hair had started to come through thick and dark. Hey ho!

Another normal day at the office and a heavy night after work at the local :)

Hair's not changing much and am getting very tempted to shave it all off.

I have the DermMatch to cover up the scar line at the back if I go ahead and do it.

Clippered my hair as soon as I got home - did a Number 3 all over. As my hair had already been cut the week before, it looks like a style as it is shorter around the edges. I feel much better now my hair is cut.

Using the Lasercomb this evening before bed - that's the 3 sessions done this week.

Well it's 2 months to the day...how time flies!

Used a little DermMatch today - hence the darkness on the photos. Looks good though and no-one would ever guess that I've either had a transplant, got grey hair or that I'm wearing darkener.

The only thing it looks like is that I'm starting to go a little thin on top.

Still getting the spots on my scalp some of them are quite "achy" - a bit like invisible blind boils.

Going to stop the DermMatch for a while and use Fucicort before sleep.

One of my friends said that my hair was really growing - "like a small tree"!
It's amazing how much of a boost this gives you especially when I had no darkener or anything on. Just a plain old virginal head and hair :)

Well, it's into the 10th Week and I can;t believe how time has flown.

Saw a mate today who couldn't believe how much my hair had grown...more confidence building!

I've used a tiny bit of DermMatch this morning which is hardly noticeable but just makes me a little bit more confident.

Forgot to use Lasercomb last night so playing catch up again!

Used Lasercomb again this evening after a bath to catch up.

My hair feels soft and furry now - in fact, if you rub your hands from front to back over my scalp you can't really feel the scalp anymore, just the very fine blond hairs.

Busy day at work and very stressful. Went out for a drink on the night to drown away the yucky day!

Haven't really thought about the hair at all today.

What a busy day! Roll on Christmas when I can have a couple of weeks off to rest!

Used Lasercomb this evening - that's my 45mins done for the week.

Still doing the waiting game - hair is coming through but very very fine and light. Can't wait until it's darkened.

Tempted to buy mascara to temporarily cover the blond hairs so I can see how much has grown. Have to pluck up the courage to go to Boots and buy one!

Out for the day today.

Used some DermMatch on the back of my head to see if it covers the scar up - hey presto!

Feeling good so I'm going to go and get some mascara to see if I can colour the blond hairs...wish me luck!

OK, so I picked up some Rimmel Brown Black mascara from Tescos. I applied it very gently to the blonde hairs working from the front to the back - using it sparingly.

Here are the results:



To be honest, I think this gives a better result (at this stage) than DermMatch or Nanogen and at '5.95, is a very cheap way of darkening the existing hairs. I realise this won't work after a couple more months but by that stage, I'll have my own hair.

It also wouldn't have worked a month ago when the hairs were too sparse.

I'm happy!

Went to a family get together last night and was told how much younger I was looking. Boy that made me feel good!

Got a few quite painful spots on my scalp - like blind boils making my scalp feel tight and uncomfortable. Might be down to stress or the stuff I keep covering my scalp with.

Think I need to relax more and stop using cover.

The mascara doesn't actually touch my scalp so I can't imagine it being that.

These spots are getting a little annoying - I now have 2 that are very pussy - check the photo :( Using Fucicort at night to try and shift them.
